The Serena Slam is complete. Now it's on to the calendar-year Grand Slam for Serena Williams.

Pushed hard by 20th-seeded Garbine Muguruza at the start and the finish, Serena Williams won the 2015 Wimbledon Championships by a 6-4, 6-4 margin.

The 21-year-old Muguruza showed off a strong serve and excellent power and placement on her groundstrokes, but her strength was also Serena's strength in the match. Williams was behind by a break in the first set when she ratcheted up her game, broke back on Muguruza and took advantage of her opportunities to put away the first set on Muguruza's first serve.

Williams, as is her wont, fist-pumped and let out a huge scream of exhilaration, knowing she was just one set away from winning her sixth Wimbledon title.

She had the momentum and took advantage of it, reeling off five of the first six games in the second set. She had the match on her racket and was serving for the set and the Wimbledon crown. Muguruza was not about to give in, as she broke Serena and won on her own serve. Surely Serena would not lose a second consecutive game on her own serve, but she did.

While Muguruza had worked her way back into the set, Serena simply said enough was enough and won the 10th game of the set for the title.

"I can't believe I'm standing here with another Serena Slam," Williams said.

Williams has won the U.S. Open, Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon in succession. If she can win the U.S. Open later this summer, she will complete the first women's calendar-year Grand Slam since Steffi Graf accomplished the feat in 1988.

Williams' strength and aggressiveness were once again decisive factors in winning the championship. She had 12 aces to Muguruza's three, and she also had 29 winners compared to 10 for Muguruza.

Additionally, Serena won 32 of 61 points (52 percent) on her opponent's serve, while Muguruza won 28 of 68 points (41 percent) on Williams' serve.

Williams was gracious in victory, telling Muguruza that she has championship ability. "Don't be sad," Williams said. "You'll be holding this trophy very soon, believe me. You're a great champ"

Men's Final Prediction

The Wimbledon men's final has the aura of a great heavyweight championship boxing match.

Once Roger Federer (Muhammad Ali) and Novak Djokovic (Joe Frazier or George Foreman, take your pick) step on the court and get through warm-ups, the tennis world will be presenting an event that transcends their sport. The two best players in the world will be competing for the most honored championship the sport has to offer.

Both Federer, the No. 2 seed, and Djokovic, the No. 1 seed, are playing sensational tennis. Historically, this may be the most anticipated Wimbiedon final since Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe squared off in back-to-back Finals in 1980 and '81.

Federer earned his spot in the final by sweeping past No. 3 seed Andy Murray 7-5, 7-5, 6-4 in the semifinal round. Federer's sensational serve was never better as he won every service game, and he only faced one break point. He is attempting to win his eighth Wimbledon crown

Djokovic also won his semifinal match in straight sets, defeating 21st-seeded Richard Gasquet 7-6, 6-4, 6-4. Djokovic took advantage of his opponent's ordinary serve to seize the match. Gasquet was successful at putting his first serve in play just 51 percent of the time.

Djokovic is gunning for his third Wimbledon title and his second in a row. He beat Federer in five sets last year.

Federer is playing better this year than he did last year, and he has dropped just one set in this year's fortnight, and that was in a tiebreaker. His serve has been off the charts, and it should prove to be the difference here.

Obviously, Federer has no margin for error against the top-ranked player in the world, but Djokovic has even less against the razor-sharp Federer.

Prediction: Federer, 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 7-5, 7-6 (16-14)
