QB Bryce Perkins Wins 2025 UFL MVP Ahead of Panthers vs. Defenders Title Game
Quarterback Bryce Perkins was named the league's MVP on Friday, one day before his Michigan Panthers are set to take on the DC Defenders in the 2025 UFL Championship game.
He is the second MVP in league history after then-Birmingham Stallions quarterback Adrian Martinez won the inaugural award in 2024.
Perkins also becomes the second MVP to be participating in the league's title game. Martinez and the Stallions were in the 2024 championship and would go on the win the game 25-0 over the San Antonio Brahmas.
Perkins is in his second season with the Panthers and threw for 1,342 yards with nine touchdowns while rushing for 269 yards and five touchdowns. He led the Panthers to a 6-4 record in the regular season.
He then threw for 238 yards with a touchdown while also rushing for a touchdown in a 44-29 victory over the Stallions to clinch a berth in Saturday's title game.
Perkins was signed by the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2020 and made five appearances during the 2022 season. He has not been on an NFL roster since 2022 but his MVP performance in the UFL could help him get another look.
The UFL Championship game will kick off at 8 p.m. ET in St. Louis.
