Djokovic vs. Federer: Live Score, Highlights from Wimbledon 2015 Men's Final

Kevin McRaeJul 11, 2015

Novak Djokovic captured his second straight Wimbledon title and the third of his career by defeating Roger Federer 7-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3 in Sunday's men's final at the All England Club.

Djokovic is the first man to repeat as Wimbledon champion since Federer won five in a row between 2003 and 2007.

The first two sets featured high-level, back-and-forth tennis between two of the sport's premier all-time operators. Federer carried the balance of the play in the opening set but couldn't close out several huge opportunities.

Djokovic rallied to force a tiebreak, which he won 7-1 to take the early advantage.

Federer saved an astonishing seven set points in the second to level the match in a wild 12-10 tiebreak that brought the crowd alive.

Things seemed all set for an epic three-set finish between the two legends that had met 39 previous times with just one match separating them, but a brief rain delay in the third seemed to stunt the momentum and flow of the match.

Djokovic finally cracked through with the big break right before the rains came to take a 3-1 advantage. The Serb was dominant, while Federer looked lethargic, after the delay and took the set 6-4 in ho-hum fashion.

The fourth took on an academic feel early.

It was clear that Federer still had enough to hang with Djokovic, but beating him was a whole different matter.

Djokovic broke Federer twice in the final set, the latter one coming on the last service game of the match, to win his second Grand Slam of the season.
