Tom Brady Statue Unveiling Date Announced by Patriots in New Hype Video

Joseph ZuckerJun 12, 2025

The New England Patriots will unveil their statue honoring legendary quarterback Tom Brady on Aug. 8 before they play the Washington Commanders in the preseason.

The organization retired Brady's No. 12 jersey ahead of the 2024 NFL season:

In addition to retiring his jersey, team owner Robert Kraft said the Patriots intended to commission a 12-foot statue in Brady's likeness outside of their Hall of Fame.

Fans don't need to be reminded too much of Brady's on-field exploits. He's widely regarded as the greatest quarterback of all time, winning six Super Bowls and throwing for nearly 75,000 yards in his 20 years with New England.

The fondness toward Brady has likely only grown after his exit in 2020.

Everyone knew the Patriots' dynasty couldn't last forever, but the hope was that head coach Bill Belichick might preside over a successful transition to the next era. Instead, New England has missed the playoffs in four of the last five years, including back-to-back 4-13 seasons.

The team may finally have a worthy successor to Brady in Drake Maye, and head coach Mike Vrabel brings a stronger track record than Jerod Mayo did.

Still, nobody can say for sure when New England will be a serious title contender again, and it may never have a run like it did with Brady and Belichick.

The celebration in August will be another opportunity to celebrate the past and remember the good times.
