Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi have teamed up to star in a new ad campaign for Adidas.

In their video, Mahomes and Messi are both at the gym running on the treadmill, and they push each other to the limit by increasing the speed of their runs:

The video ended with the message: "We all need someone to make us believe. You got this."

Adidas announced back in February that several other athletes would be part of the "You Got This" campaign as well, including Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards, Indiana Fever forward Aliyah Boston and soccer sensations Trinity Rodman, Lamine Yamal and Aitana Bonmatí.

Mahomes and Messi are two of the most popular and recognizable athletes in the world, and they are among the all-time greats in their respective sports.

Despite being only 29 years old and just eight years into his NFL career, it can be argued that Mahomes is already the second-best quarterback of all time behind only Tom Brady.

Mahomes is a six-time Pro Bowler, two-time First Team All-Pro, three-time Super Bowl champion, three-time Super Bowl MVP and two-time NFL MVP.

He led the Chiefs to back-to-back Super Bowl wins in 2022 and 2023, and they nearly became the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls, as they fell to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX last season.

The 37-year-old Messi has done it all over the course of his legendary soccer career at both the club and national team levels.

He won multiple UEFA Champions League titles at Barcelona and the 2022 FIFA World Cup for Argentina, plus he is an eight-time winner of the Ballon d'Or as the top soccer player in the world.

Messi is also the second-leading goal scorer in soccer history across top-level competitions, and one of only two players with at least 800 career goals.

In 2023, Messi came to the United States to continue his career in MLS, and he has maintained his elite level of play for Inter Miami, scoring 49 goals in 59 matches across all competitions for the club over the past three seasons.
