Jags CB Hurdled by Saquon Barkley Reacts to Madden NFL 26 Cover, 'S--t Was Hard'

Doric SamJun 11, 2025

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley's incredible backward hurdle was immortalized on the cover of Madden NFL 26, but the player who was on the receiving end of the play has no hard feelings.

Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jarrian Jones told reporters that he loved seeing the Madden cover, but he wished they had included his number in the image.

"S--t was kind of hard, for real. That s--t was hard," Jones said. "... I seen it and I was like, 'Damn, they ain't put my number on there?' The play was fire, to me. Everybody was DM'ing me, like I was supposed to be mad or something. I don't give a damn. He made a good play. It is what it is."

Jones was asked if he really wanted his number included so he would be identified as the player Barkley was hurdling over, and he responded: "If they're gonna pay me for it. That's why I say that—they'd have to pay me for it. But I don't really care. I don't really play Madden like that anyway."

Still, Jones was told that the last time the Jaguars graced the cover of Madden was in 1996, and it preceded a run to the AFC Championship Game that year. Knowing that information, he went back to advocating for his number being added to the upcoming release of the famed video game series.

"See, that's why they need my number in there so I could be the second one to ever be on the face of the Madden," he said with a smile. "They're playing games."
