Phillies' Aaron Nola Reportedly Has Rib Injury, Could Be Out Until After All-Star Game

Julia StumbaughJun 10, 2025

Philadelphia Phillies starter Aaron Nola, who hasn't pitched since May 14 due to a right ankle sprain, could be out for another month after tests revealed a separate rib injury.

Phillies manager Rob Thomson told reporters on Tuesday that an MRI had revealed a "stress fracture" in Nola's right rib cage that will keep him from throwing for at least two weeks, according to The Athletic's Matt Gelb.

Gelb wrote that Nola's injury "probably" indicates he won't return until after the MLB breaks for the All-Star Game on July 15. On Pattison's Anthony SanFilippo similarly predicted it would be "at least another month or a little more before he can come back."
