Combine notes
FloHockey's Chris Peter provided a summary of some of the top prospect's measurements.
McQueen measured in at 6 foot, 5.25 inches, while James Hagens came in at 5 foot, 10.5 inches.
The fitness measurements weren't the only tests taking place at the combine this weekend. The Hockey Writers' Mark Scheig noted that multiple prospects described undergoing personality testing with teams:
Michigan forward William Horcoff, the son of former NHL player Shawn Horcoff, set a new combine record by leaping for 124.8 inches in the horizontal jump.
The previous record was set last summer by E.J. Emery, who was later selected by the New York Rangers in the first round of the 2024 NHL draft.
Roger McQueen, who was limited to 17 games in his pre-draft season due to a stress fracture in his spine, proved his return to health by placing top-ten in multiple fitness tests on Saturday.
"One to 10, I'm at a 10, pain-free now, and there's no symptoms for the last while," McQueen said earlier this week, per NHL.com's Adam Kimelman. "So, it's been awesome, and I probably haven't felt better in the last three years."
The New York Islanders, San Jose Sharks currently hold the top three picks heading into the 2025 draft. The Utah Mammoth, Nashville Predators, Philadelphia Flyers, Boston Bruins, Seattle Kraken, Buffalo Sabres and Anaheim Ducks will round out the top ten picks when the first decentralized edition of the draft takes place later this June.
