Adam Sandler Offers Derrick Henry Movie Role If RB Runs for 2K Yards in New Video

Scott PolacekJun 6, 2025

Derrick Henry could be coming to a theater near you.

Dan Patrick organized a connection between the Baltimore Ravens running back and actor Adam Sandler after promising Henry he could be in an upcoming movie if he ran for 2,000 yards in 2025.

Sandler sent Henry a video message in response and agreed to put him in a movie and have dinner together if he accomplishes the feat:

Henry was fired up about the video and called Sandler "my dog" while also sending Patrick a message thanking him for making it happen.

Athlete cameos are nothing new in Sandler movies, and fans will be in store for quite a few during the upcoming Happy Gilmore 2. Travis Kelce, Scottie Scheffler, Rory Mcllroy, Reggie Bush, Bryson DeChambeau, Jack Nicklaus, Collin Morikawa and Justin Thomas are among those confirmed to be in the movie.

Patrick has also been in several Sandler movies, including The Waterboy, The Longest Yard and Grown Ups.

Henry securing his spot will be anything but easy given how difficult it is to run for 2,000 yards in the NFL, but he has accomplished the task in the past. He ran for 2,027 yards during the 2020 campaign when he was a member of the Tennessee Titans.

The Alabama product also just missed the mark in his first season with the Ravens in 2024 when he tallied 1,921 yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground.

Perhaps Lamar Jackson can make sure a few more read-option carries go to Henry instead of keeping them during the upcoming campaign so the running back can join the Sandlerverse.
