Real Madrid Transfer News: Latest on Cristiano Ronaldo and David De Gea Rumours
Cristiano Ronaldo could find himself swapping Real Madrid for Paris in the near future, according to the latest rumours.
Per Sport, France Football are reporting that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has met Paris Saint-Germain's owners in Qatar to discuss a potential move for Ronaldo in 2016.
Sport do note, however, that a deal is "a long way from being agreed."
As always, Ronaldo enjoyed the kind of form last season most players can only dream of. The Portuguese forward scored 61 goals and contributed 19 assists in an outstanding campaign for Real.
As the Guardian's Sid Lowe illustrates, Ronaldo's incredible goalscoring exploits continue to amaze:
The 30-year-old recently reaffirmed he was happy in Madrid.
According to Rob Dawson of the Manchester Evening News, he spoke to Portuguese newspaper A Bola. He said:
"I'm very happy at the world's biggest and most-supported club and confident that next season will be full of success.
I repeat once again that I'm at the best club in the world and it's at the best club in the world where I want to start winning again.
I'd sincerely ask to stop with the false news and afford me a little peace. Real Madrid and I are very happy with each other.
"
However, should Real endure another season devoid of major silverware, or should new manager Rafa Benitez switch the team's focus to Gareth Bale, Ronaldo may be tempted to move next summer.
Perez may be tempted to sell in 2016 in order to get a significant return on the superstar while he has the chance.
Though a return to Manchester United can never be ruled out, either, the idea of Ronaldo moving to PSG is gaining credence.
United Want Madrid Duo in Return for David De Gea
There have been rumours of Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea potentially moving to Real Madrid, but according to COPE, via George Bellshaw of Metro, the Red Devils "will only begin to negotiate if any deal includes both Keylor Navas and Sergio Ramos moving to Old Trafford."
Navas would be the direct replacement for De Gea, while United have made their interest in Ramos well-known.

The goalkeeper made just eight appearances for Los Blancos last season and would likely jump at the chance for a No. 1 spot at a Champions League club and potential title challenger.
The 28-year-old exploded onto the international stage at the World Cup in 2014.
As WhoScored.com illustrate, Navas' heroics with Costa Rica followed an outstanding domestic season with Levante.
Per Adriana Garcia of ESPN, Iker Casillas is likely to depart from the club in the summer, so Madrid may be reluctant to lose such a strong back-up 'keeper.
They would undoubtedly be reluctant to trade two players and offer a fee on top, at any rate.
De Gea looks certain to join Real this summer, but giving up just Ramos and a transfer fee would likely be the club's preferable option.
There are plenty more twists in the tale, however, so expect there to be plenty more reports emerging as the two giants negotiate in one of the biggest sagas of the transfer window.
