Rashod Bateman, Ravens Agree to Reported 3-Year, $36.8M Contract Extension

Rashod Bateman and the Baltimore Ravens have agreed to a contract extension, the team announced Thursday.

The three-year extension is worth $36.75 million with $20 million guaranteed, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Bateman signed a deal last summer that extended his previous contract through the 2026 season.

The 25-year-old had $10.75 million remaining on that previous contract at the time of signing, per Spotrac.

Bateman, a first-round pick in the 2021 draft, would have hit restricted free agency in 2025 without any extensions on his rookie contract.

He was not eligible for a fifth-year contract option because he didn't have enough accrued seasons after starting 2023 training camp on the Did Not Report list, per The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec.

After injuries limited Bateman through the first three seasons of his career, the wide receiver saw his usage spike ahead of a career-best season in 2024.

Bateman ranked second only to Zay Flowers on the Ravens with 756 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns in 17 regular-season games as Lamar Jackson finished as runner-up for NFL MVP.

He added 90 receiving yards and two touchdowns in two playoff games before the Ravens were eliminated from the divisional round.

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said after the season that he was "very proud" of Bateman's 2024 campaign.

"Guy's had some adversity with injuries along the way that he's overcome. Some serious injuries, some bad luck. I think he's taken some criticism, and he came back this year with a vengeance... It's a great story, and I think he's just getting started," DeCosta said in January.

DeCosta will now hope for better injury luck for Bateman as the Ravens look for him and Flowers to help Jackson compete for another MVP award next season.
