Aaron Donald Invites Rams' Jared Verse Over for 'Old Man Retirement Workout' in Video

Former Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald responded to Jared Verse saying the three-time Defensive Player of the Year is "not ready" to work out with him.

"I'm looking for you, Verse... Come to the house. I just wanna talk," Donald said in a video posted Wednesday to his Instagram story.

"Play with a little weights. Do a little cardio. You know, the old man retirement workout. Let's put you through it, let's see what you can do."

Verse originally called out Donald in response to a question from ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday's episode of the Adam Schefter Podcast.

Schefter asked Verse at the 38:45 mark of the podcast if he ever worked out with Donald during the offseason.

"He don't want that. He's not ready for that," Verse responded. "That little 500 bench he has? He's not ready for that. I'll be moving weight, I'll be moving weight.

"Whenever he's ready for a workout, I be seeing his little Instagram posts with the dumbbell bench. He can get at me whenever he's ready."

Donald, who retired after his 10th straight Pro Bowl season with the Rams months before the franchise selected Verse in the first round of the 2024 draft, never overlapped as a player with the Rams' young defensive star.

That doesn't mean is the first back-and-forth between the current and former Rams stars. Verse said after he was drafted that he received advice in a Zoom call with Donald during his college career at Albany.

Donald later congratulated Verse for winning Defensive Rookie of the Year a decade after he claimed the award himself.

"Congrats, man. Well deserved, bro, well deserved," Donald told Verse in the February video. “Let’s keep it up. We ain’t satisfied. We still hungry, though. We going to enjoy this one, but we got a lot more to go, a lot more to accomplish, man."

It looks like Donald believes those accomplishments might start in the weight room. Rams fans used to seeing workouts on his Instagram story could potentially end up seeing Verse featured in the future.
