Tee Higgins Plans on 'Staying Healthy' in 2025 After Bengals Contract Extension

Andrew PetersJun 3, 2025

Tee Higgins had a great year in 2024, but injuries forced him to miss time and held him back from what could have been an All-Pro caliber season.

It marked a second consecutive year in which Higgins missed five games because of injuries. After inking an extension with the Cincinnati Bengals this offseason, the wide receiver isn't going to let injuries stand in his way again.

"I plan on staying healthy," Higgins said, per ESPN's Ben Baby. "Let's not say 'if.' Let's not do that. It's too early to be doing that. I plan on it.

"When I do, [the offense] definitely could be deadly."

In 2023, Higgins missed a game with a rib injury and four games with a hamstring injury. Last season, he dealt with a hamstring injury and a squad injury to limit him to just 12 games.

Still, he finished the year with 911 yards and 10 touchdowns, making him an elite second option to triple crown winner Ja'Marr Chase, who had 1,708 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Despite concerns with the defense, the trio of Higgins, Chase and quarterback Joe Burrow gives the Bengals a chance to compete for the playoffs after missing the postseason the last two years. Cincinnati's success depends tremendously on Higgins' ability to stay on the field.
