Jake Paul Says Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Will Be 'Embarrassed' in Upcoming Boxing Fight

Doric SamJun 1, 2025

Jake Paul is predicting something spectacular for his upcoming fight against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on June 28 in Anaheim.

Paul told TMZ that he expects to put on the best performance of his boxing career against the former WBC middleweight champion.

"Man, I'm feeling better than ever. This is going to be my breakout performance. It's going to be a tough fight, you know. Someone's going to get embarrassed, and it's not going to be me," Paul said at the start of the interview. "But I'm training harder than ever. I know this is my toughest opponent yet. Maybe not the biggest name opponent, but it's still going to be a super, super good fight."

Chavez last fought in July when he defeated former UFC fighter Uriah Hall by unanimous decision. It was his first fight since 2021.

Paul is coming off a win over boxing legend Mike Tyson in November. He's faced criticisms for fighting boxers well past their prime, as there was a 31-year age difference between him and Tyson. The 28-year-old will have only an 11-year age gap this time around against the 39-year-old Chavez.

Paul has made it clear that he hopes to compete for a championship, so a win over Chavez later this month could put him in a position to call for a title shot.
