Colorado's Gage Goldberg Says Shedeur Sanders' 2025 NFL Draft Slide 'Shocked' Team
Colorado linebacker Gage Goldberg was one of the many people surprised to see Shedeur Sanders fall to the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft.
Speaking to TMZ Sports alongside his father, WWE legend Bill Goldberg, Gage said "we were all shocked" on the team to see Sanders on the board well into day three of the draft.

Sanders' slide was the biggest story during and after the draft. He was regarded as a late-first-round pick going into the start of the event, but didn't come off the board until the Cleveland Browns took him at No. 144 overall.
Gage didn't elaborate on his response, but Bill did praise Sanders for having "talent on top of talent" and expressed his belief that this will "turn out to be a success story" for the former Colorado quarterback.
Sanders and Goldberg were teammates with the Buffaloes for one season in 2024. Goldberg opted to go to Colorado after initially committing to Alabama as a preferred walk-on.
As a redshirt freshman, Goldberg appeared in three games. His debut was in Colorado's 34-7 win over Arizona. He finished the year with one tackle on just 11 defensive snaps played.
Even though Goldberg's exposure to Sanders was limited to just their one year, he saw the best version of him. The 23-year-old threw for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns and completed 74.0 percent of his attempts.
