Josh Jacobs Says He 'Left A Lot on the Table' with Packers During 2024 NFL Season

Josh Jacobs believes he can improve on the career-high 15 rushing touchdowns he recorded during his first season with the Green Bay Packers.

"I feel like I had a good year, but I feel like I still left a lot on the table," Jacobs said, per Wes Hodkiewicz of Packers.com.

Jacobs continued, "For me, it's just trying to come in and chase that No. 1 spot and raise a Super Bowl at the end of the day. That's the only thing that's really on my mind."

Jacobs signed a four-year, $48 million deal with the Packers in 2024 free agency after five seasons with the Raiders.

He went on to earn a third career Pro Bowl nod while recording 1,329 rushing yards, the second-highest total of his career and sixth-most in the NFL, in 17 games.

The Packers meanwhile ranked fifth in the NFL with 146.8 rushing yards per game, a notable boost from the 2023 team's 15th place ranking and 112.1 yards per game.

Jacobs wasn't the only running back who proved to be a key part of his team's offense in 2024.

Derrick Henry rushed for 1,921 yards with the Baltimore Ravens, and Saquon Barkley topped 2,000 yards during the regular season before setting an NFL record for total single-season rushing yards while leading the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl.

"Besides the quarterback, we touch the ball more than anybody else on the field, so we have the most opportunities to create and be special, so I'm proud of a lot of these guys who stepped up and showed their versatility and played good," Jacobs said, per Hodkiewicz.

If Jacobs can put together a similar campaign to Barkley's 2024 season and lead the Packers on a deep playoff run next winter, he'll be able to further cement his status alongside Henry and Barkley as one of the top offensive players in the NFL.
