The Chicago Sky are finally in the win column.

Led by Kamilla Cardoso's 23 points and eight rebounds, the Sky (1-4) earned their first victory of the WNBA season, beating the Dallas Wings 97-92.

Angel Reese added nine rebounds and five assists in the win, though she only scored six points on 2-of-6 shooting from the field.

Arike Ogunbowale paced the Wings (1-5) in the loss, putting up an absurd 37 points, seven assists and five rebounds, while rookie sensation Paige Bueckers managed 15 points, eight assists and three steals, continuing her fantastic debut season.

The Wings, despite losing on Thursday, have to be thrilled with the pairing of Ogunbowale and Bueckers. As they continue to grow chemistry, they should be one of the league's better backcourt duos.

Bueckers had another efficient evening from the field, which was something of a struggle for her in the season's first four games. She's shot 14-of-21 (66 percent) from the field in the past two games, however, and remains a fantastic facilitator (6.6 APG this season).

The Sky are hoping for a similar progression in the frontcourt between the duo of Cardoso and Reese. There's no questioning the elite defensive and rebounding presence that Reese provides, though her offensive efficiency remains a major concern. Coming into the night she was shooting just 31 percent from the field, a rough number for a player who operates close to the basket.

Cardoso, meanwhile, had easily her best game of the season, with the Sky playing through her and the Wings having few answers to stop her. That is perhaps a recipe for success for the Sky, with Reese arguably best suited to playing more of a Draymond Green-esque role.

There's little doubt that Reese can contribute to winning basketball. But coming into the game, she was averaging 10.5 shots per game and the Sky were winless. On the night she only took six shots, the Sky came away with a win (albeit against an opponent that also only has one victory).

That, at the very least, is food for thought.
