Von Miller Intends to Play 2025 NFL Season, Says Broncos Contract 'Doesn't Make Sense'
Von Miller's plan is to play this upcoming season, but it almost assuredly won't be with the Denver Broncos.
"I haven't heard anything [from the Broncos]," the veteran free agent told reporters on Wednesday. "If you look at it, this year, it really doesn’t make sense. They've got two really, really good rushers that are the best in the league. With Jonathon Cooper and Nik Bonitto, they are incredible rushers, and the guys beneath them, they come in and produce sacks too. And they play special teams. I'm not playing special teams. That decision kinda makes itself at 36 years old. I can say I probably won't be doing that. So this year, probably not [signing with Denver], but the year after that, we'll see what happens."

The Broncos are indeed fairly set on the edge. Cooper registered 10.5 sacks last season, while Bonitto led the team with 13.5. In total, six different Broncos had five or more sacks in 2024, and the team led the league with 63 in total.
So a Miller reunion—he spent parts of 11 seasons with the team—probably doesn't make much sense for Denver. For a contending team in need of some experienced veteran depth, however, the eight-time Pro Bowler and two-time champion could be a logical addition as training camp nears.
