Steelers' Roman Wilson Hypes Mason Rudolph as 'Elite Quarterback' Amid Rodgers Rumors
The Pittsburgh Steelers are still waiting to hear back from Aaron Rodgers regarding his free agency decision, but one wide receiver thinks the team has a capable quarterback already on the roster.
Roman Wilson had high praise for Mason Rudolph, who is back on the Steelers after spending a season with the Tennessee Titans.
“He’s an elite quarterback, really locked in and bought in,” Wilson said, per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Jason Mackey. “Everyone likes him a lot. He’s a good dude.”

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Rudolph was drafted by Pittsburgh in the third round of the 2018 draft, but never saw much time as the team's starter. Over the offseason, he signed with the Titans and ended up getting some solid playing time. He appeared in eight games, throwing for 1,530 yards, nine touchdowns and nine interceptions. It was the most he'd played since 2019.
In March, Rudolph returned to Pittsburgh on a two-year, $8 million deal.
Along with Rudolph, the Steelers' quarterback room features sixth-round pick Will Howard and former seventh-rounder Skylar Thompson, who has appeared in just 10 games total since being drafted in 2022.
If Pittsburgh starts the season with that group, Rudolph would presumably be QB1.
For now, the Steelers will continue waiting for Rodgers to decide what his next career move is. If Pittsburgh is without Rodgers at the end of the offseason, Rudolph will have the stamp of approval from at least Wilson.
