Before some of golf's biggest stars open the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio, on Thursday morning, a number of sports luminaries had their crack at Muirfield Village Golf Club for the Memorial Pro-Am.

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, NFL legend Peyton Manning, former Alabama coach Nick Saban, Ohio State coach Ryan Day, 11-time Pro Bowler Larry Fitzgerald and 2014 U.S. Women's Open champion Michelle Wie-West were some of the headliners.

Day and Saban were paired in the same group, and a lot of college football fans would've paid good money to follow them for 18 holes.

Two-time major winner Justin Thomas said he was struck by Day's personability, and the Buckeyes coach has a pretty good golf swing too:

Of course, one can only imagine what kind of trash talk Day and Saban exchanged:

Plenty of Ohioans were firmly rooting against Curry when the Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers matched up for four straight years in the NBA Finals. That's all water under the bridge now:

Curry also took full advantage of an opportunity to heap some praise on teammate Jimmy Butler:

Manning didn't specify what he shot on the day but said Muirfield's course record of 61 was "very safe":

Scottie Scheffler was the PGA Tour pro for the front nine with Manning's group. They made for a powerhouse tandem in terms of the achievements in their respective sports:

The Memorial tees off at 7:50 a.m. ET with Joe Highsmith and Brandt Snedeker stepping to the first tee. Two weeks removed from winning the PGA Championship, Scheffler will try to defend his tournament crown.
