Dolphins' Jalen Ramsey Reportedly Drawing More Trade Interest 'Than People Realize'

Adam WellsMay 27, 2025

Jalen Ramsey may no longer be at the absolute peak of his abilities, but that doesn't mean teams across the NFL are shying away from him as the Miami Dolphins continue to pursue trade opportunities for the three-time All-Pro.

Appearing on Tuesday's episode of Get Up, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported there is more trade interest "than people realize" for Ramsey right now:

"The Miami Dolphins have been looking and open to dealing Jalen Ramsey, and there has been interest in and across the league. I think probably more than people realize and it certainly sounds like in the next couple of weeks, the Dolphins will be able to find a trade partner for Jalen Ramsey and he will be moving on yet again."

Dolphins general manager Chris Grier told reporters on April 15 that the team started the process of looking into trades for Ramsey, while also pointing out the veteran cornerback did not request to be dealt:

"I will say, these decisions aren’t done quickly and they’re not taken lightly because we’ve spent a lot of time this offseason working through this, talking through things. At the end of the day, Jalen did not ask for a trade. So, we went through the process and just felt that after numerous conversations and then talking last week with Jalen and his agent, that it was best to move forward. And [it’s the] best interest of the Miami Dolphins and for Jalen Ramsey."

Based on the timing of that statement, it was assumed something might happen prior to or during the draft. Grier did say after the draft ended they had talks with other teams, but they would "make the deal at the appropriate time" and didn't offer a specific timetable.

June 1 is the date on the calendar worth keeping an eye on. The Dolphins will save $9.9 million against the 2025 cap by trading him after that date. They would be on the hook for an $8.6 million cap hit if he is traded prior to June 1.

Ramsey's former team, the Los Angeles Rams, have been cited as a potential landing spot for him. The Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders were recently named as potential suitors by ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

There are plenty of teams with Super Bowl aspirations this season that could use another starting cornerback, including the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals.

Ramsey, who will turn 31 on Oct. 24, is under contract through the 2028 season. There is no guaranteed money left on the deal after 2025, making it easier to get out of if a team wanted to move on.

In 17 starts for the Dolphins last season, Ramsey finished with 11 pass breakups and two interceptions.
