Schedule and Viewing Information

1 of 3

Friday, May 23, 2025

7 Ole Miss vs. 2 Arkansas (4:00 p.m., SEC Network, ESPN+)

14 Texas A&M vs. 3 LSU (7:30 p.m., SEC Network, ESPN+)

Prediction: Texas A&M vs. LSU

2 of 3

The Aggies have already upset the Tigers twice this season and will look to make it a clean sweep Friday evening in Hoover, Alabama. Not only that, but the team's hopes of an NCAA tournament appearance likely depend on an SEC Tournament win.

It will not be easy.

LSU possesses a top-five offense, with a batting average of .306. They have the second-best pitching rotation in the conference, too, with a team ERA of 3.78. It is the pitching and strong defensive play of the Tigers that allowed them to hold the Aggies to less than 10 runs across two games. While Texas A&M emerged victoriously in those games, LSU's ability to confound them defensively and hit the ball puts them in a position to win Friday's game.

It will be up to the underdogs' strong starting rotation to try and stunt the Tigers' offense, as it had in their previous match-ups, to secure the victory. It is a tall task but if they start Myles Patten, who only gave up four hits against LSU in their previous meeting, they will have a chance.

Still, it is incredibly difficult to beat a team three times in the same season. Especially when that team is better in every measurable way and the game takes place in a high-stakes tournament such as the SEC Championship.

Patten should have a solid outing but look for the Tigers to exorcise the demons of games' past and beat Texas A&M, relatively handily, and advance.

Prediction: LSU defeats Texas A&M, 7-3

Ole Miss vs. Arkansas Prediction

3 of 3

The Razorbacks and Rebels are no stranger to each other.

They kicked off SEC opening weekend against each other and coaches Dave Van Horn (Arkansas) and Mike Bianco (Ole Miss) have guided their programs for two decades.

Wehiwa Aloy leads the Razorbacks with 18 home runs, 58 RBI, and an average of .358 while Charles Davalan follows closely behind with 13 home runs, 54 RBI, and a .353 average. The two of them and their ability to generate offense will be key to any hopes Arkansas has of winning Friday.

The better team, they will have their hands full with an Ole Miss team that has 13 of its 16 positional players hitting at least .247.

For Arkansas, it may come down to starting pitcher Zach Root, who possesses a 4.16 ERA and 102 strikeouts in 2025. If he can sit opposing hitters down, it will not matter how potent the Ole Miss bats have been to this point.

Arkansas has all but one of its batters hitting over .300 and should be able to control the game offensively en route to a dance in the semifinals against either LSU or Texas A&M.

Prediction: Arkansas wins, 6-4
