Ashton Jeanty Says Daniel Carlson 'Could Buy a Car' with Cost for Raiders No. 2 Jersey
Jersey numbers mean a lot to NFL players, and some are willing to pay a high price to wear their favorite number.
Las Vegas Raiders rookie Ashton Jeanty is one of those players.
The star running back said kicker Daniel Carlson, who formerly wore No. 2, could purchase a new car with the money he was given by Jeanty for his number.

“You could probably buy a house,” Jeanty told Kay Adams this week on Up and Adams (h/t Pro Football Talk's Charean Williams). “Actually, I’m not going to say a house. You could buy a car, like a nice Mercedes.”
Jeanty wouldn't reveal the exact figure he paid, but it has to be significant if Carlson can buy a car with it.
For Jeanty, it's a small price to pay to keep the legacy of No. 2 in his family alive.
“I’ve worn it the majority of my career,” Jeanty said. “It’s the day greatness was born, the day I was born — December 2. It’s a family number. All my family members who played sports, they wore No. 2.”
Jeanty wore No. 2 at Boise State, where he became a Heisman finalist last year as he rushed for 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns, and he'll look to have similar success in Las Vegas.
