WWE WrestleMania 42 Reportedly Moving from New Orleans, Per Local Organization

New Orleans will no longer be the host city for next year's WWE WrestleMania 42, according to the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation.

In a statement provided to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation said the following regarding the change:

"The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and New Orleans & Company are working closely with our friends at TKO to expand our long-standing partnership, which will include UFC 318 on July 19, 2025, Money in the Bank in 2026, and WrestleMania(—)which will move from the currently scheduled 2026 timeframe to a future year."

Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp added that WWE confirmed the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation's announcement, noting that New Orleans will host WrestleMania in a future year instead of WrestleMania 42.

PWInsider (h/t WrestleOps) also reported that some WWE insiders believe the show will be held in an "international location" after being moved from New Orleans.

On the Feb. 21 episode of SmackDown in New Orleans, WWE legend and TKO Board of Directors member The Rock appeared and announced that WrestleMania 42 would be held at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on April 11 and 12, 2026.

WWE subsequently advertised WrestleMania 42 for New Orleans on numerous occasions, and it was set to be the third WrestleMania to take place in the Big Easy since WrestleMania 30 in 2014.

Instead, WrestleMania will return to New Orleans in a future year and New Orleans will instead play host to the 2026 Money in the Bank premium live event, which typically occurs in June or July.

Last year, WWE announced that Indianapolis would host future WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Royal Rumble events as part of a multi-year partnership.

No specific year was given for when Indianapolis would host WrestleMania, but it could potentially be a candidate for WrestleMania 42 in the wake of Thursday's shocking revelation.
