Saquon Barkley Says 2024 Eagles Are 'Top-5 Team of All Time' in NFL History
The Philadelphia Eagles are kings of the NFL after winning the Super Bowl last season, but Saquon Barkley believes they could hold their own against almost every team in league history.
"I firmly believe, when you look at our team that we had last year—and I know we're not looking too far into the past—but our team last year. I think we're a top-five team of all time," the star running back said during an appearance on the Exciting Mics podcast with Cooper DeJean and Reed Blankenship (13-minute mark).
"If you really look at the season outside of the first four games, it was belt to ass. … People don't realize how great of a team that actually was."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Philadelphia got off to a slow start at 2-2 and then won 12 of its last 13 regular-season games to clinch the NFC East title at 14-3. Its only defeat during that span was a narrow 36-33 loss to the Washington Commanders, and quarterback Jalen Hurts attempted just four passes in that contest before exiting with an injury.
The Eagles got revenge on the Commanders from there with a blowout 55-23 victory in the NFC Championship Game.
The blowouts didn't stop there, as Philadelphia handled Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl 40-22. Kansas City scored two garbage-time touchdowns in the final three minutes to make the score much closer after the NFC representative built a 40-6 advantage.
While there have been a number of great teams in NFL history, it is hard to argue with that type of run from a squad that featured plenty of star power in Barkley, Hurts, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith along with a defense that was second in the league in points allowed.
Barkley had a list of the top five teams of all time ready, and he suggested the Eagles would be up there with the 2000 Baltimore Ravens, 1972 Miami Dolphins, 1985 Chicago Bears and any team from the dynasty runs of the Chiefs and New England Patriots.
The 1972 Dolphins remain the only team to finish a regular season undefeated and win a Super Bowl, while the 2000 Ravens and 1985 Bears are widely known as the best defenses in league history. Tom Brady's Patriots and Mahomes' Chiefs all won multiple Lombardi Trophies with legendary quarterbacks.
Philadelphia is bringing back most of its core for the 2025 campaign, so perhaps Barkley and Co. can further cement their place in history with another title.
