Predictions for WWE Saturday Night Main Event and AEW Double or Nothing Match Cards

Chris MuellerMay 23, 2025

This weekend is going to be very busy for wrestling fans with WWE Saturday Night's Main Event and AEW Double or Nothing airing on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Here is a look at the card for SNME:

—Jey Uso vs. Logan Paul (World title)
—CM Punk and Sami Zayn vs. Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker
—John Cena vs. R-Truth
—Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre (Cage match)

Here is a look at the card for Double or Nothing:

—Jamie Hayter vs. Mercedes Mone (Women's Owen finals)
—Will Ospreay vs. Adam Page (Men's Owen finals)
—Kazuchika Okada vs. Mike Bailey (Continental title)
—The Hurt Syndicate vs. Sons of Texas (AEW Tag titles)
—Toni Storm vs. Mina Shirakawa (Women's World title)
—Mark Briscoe vs. Ricochet (Stretcher match)
—FTR vs. Daniel Garcia and Nigel McGuinness
—Kenny Omega, Swerve Strickland, Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, Katsuyori Shibata and Willow vs. The Young Bucks, Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta and Marina Shafir (Anarchy in the Arena)

Let's got through the card and make some predictions for this weekend's festivities.

Jey Uso Retains His Title

1 of 12
Monday Night RAW

Uso won the world title at WrestleMania 41 and did not defend the belt at Backlash, so this marks his first special event putting his title on the line.

While WWE has put a lot of effort into pushing Paul, there is no way the company is going to have the guy who ended Gunther's year-long reign drop the belt in his first title defense.

This will see Paul do his usual stunts and use the standard dirty tactics he and his cronies have utilized in the past, but he is not leaving Tampa with the belt.

Prediction: Uso retains

Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins Earn Their First Win as a Team

2 of 12
Monday Night RAW

Punk and Zayn have never been on bad terms, but that does not make them a team. Breakker and Rollins just formed their new alliance with Paul Heyman at 'Mania, so that gives them an advantage.

Not only does being more of a team make a difference, but having them lose their first tag match as a duo makes no sense. If WWE wants this new group to get off to a good start, there is only one way this can end.

Punk and Zayn will do an admirable job, but Rollins' penchant for cutting corners and Breakker's unmatched athleticism are going to be too much for them to handle.

Prediction: Breakker and Rollins defeat Punk and Zayn

John Cena is Going to Ruin R-Truth's Childhood

3 of 12
WWE Backlash

R-Truth has been claiming for years that Cena, a man who is younger than him, is his childhood hero. It's been a funny part of his character for a while, but that is all about to end.

After putting Truth through a table during the Backlash press conference, Cena set this match in motion. It's not for the title, but the outcome would have been the same either way.

Truth is going to try to appeal to Cena's good side, but the WWE champion is going to prove he sold his soul by decimating the man who has idolized him for years in front of thousands of fans.

Prediction: Cena defeats Truth

Damian Priest is Going to Avenge his WrestleMania Loss

4 of 12
WrestleMania 41

McIntyre defeated Priest at WrestleMania 41 in a Sin City Street Fight, so The Archer of Infamy has a lot of motivation to make sure their cage match doesn't end the same way.

These two powerhouses have crossed paths several times over the past year, including Priest's world title win at 'Mania 40, so there is no love lost between these two.

This probably won't be their final encounter, but it might be the last time they square off for a bit so both men can focus on new feuds moving forward. Priest needs this win more than McIntyre, but both men will be fine regardless of the outcome.

Prediction: Priest defeats McIntyre

Jamie Hayter Wins the Owen

5 of 12
Minnesota Twins v Texas Rangers

Hayter and Moné have never met in the ring, so Sunday's Owen Hart Cup final will be the first time these two have ever competed against each other.

Moné is already the TBS champion, and that means if she wins a world title shot, both women's titles will be tied up in the same feud for a little while. That is why it makes more sense for Hayter to leave Phoenix with the win.

The CEO will eventually be in the world title picture, but AEW needs to have her drop the TBS title first. Once that happens, she will have a clear path to the top. For now, Hayter is going to pull out the win and go on to face whoever leaves DoN with the title.

Prediction: Hayter defeats Moné

Will Ospreay Wants it More, but Hangman Needs it More

6 of 12
WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage

Ospreay and Page are likely going to produce one of the best matches we see this weekend, and they might have one of the hardest outcomes to predict, too.

Both men would make excellent choices to win the men's Owen and challenge Moxley for the world title, but it might come down to which man is willing to go further to achieve their goal.

As great as Ospreay is, Hangman has been the heart and soul of AEW for a long time. He is going to leave Phoenix with a new trophy and a shot at the world title.

Prediction: Page defeats Ospreay

MJF Will Help The Hurt Syndicate Retain Their Gold

7 of 12
NASCAR Cup Series Würth 400

Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin will defend the AEW tag titles against the current ROH tag champs, Sammy Guevara and Dustin Rhodes.

Out of all of the matches on the DoN card, this one might be the easiest to predict. There is no way Rhodes and Guevara are defeating Lashley and Benjamin, especially now that MJF is in their corner.

MVP and MJF are going to do whatever they can to help The Hurt Syndicate retain in what will still be a fun match.

Prediction: The Hurt Syndicate defeats Sons of Texas

Toni Storm will Remain Timeless

8 of 12
2025 TCM Classic Film Festival Opening Night Screening Of "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back"

Shirakawa is officially All Elite, but having her immediately dethrone one of the most popular champions AEW has ever had right away seems pretty unlikely.

One of the big unknowns in this story is Mariah May. She hasn't been seen since she lost the title back to Storm at Grand Slam Australia. It feels like the right time to bring her back.

A very probable outcome to this match would see May help Storm retain the title, not because she is her ally, but because she is going to start her own feud with her former partner, Shirakawa.

Prediction: Storm defeats Shirakawa

FTR Send Nigel McGuinness back to his Commentary Chair

9 of 12
WRESTLING: JAN 26 AEW Collision

McGuinness will put his announcing duties aside this weekend to team up with Garcia against Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler.

This is going to be a fun, hard-fought match, but the odds of FTR losing to a semi-retired wrestler and their former protege feel slim at best.

Garcia will eventually get a victory over FTR, but it won't be this Sunday. Harwood and Wheeler are going to continue building momentum with a victory, possibly with a little help from Stokely Hathaway.

Prediction: FTR defeats Garcia and McGuinness

Ricochet Sends Mark Briscoe Home on a Stretcher

10 of 12
New Japan Pro-Wrestling - Wrestle Dynasty

Ricochet has been gaining a lot of momentum in AEW lately, but he has lost his last two PPV matches against Strickland and Zack Sabre Jr.

If AEW wants to commit to pushing him as a heel, he needs a big win at a major event. That is why, unfortunately for Briscoe, the high-flyer is going to pick up the win on Sunday.

Briscoe is one of those guys who has evergreen popularity, so he can afford to take this loss and come back next week to the same pop he always gets. He will lose nothing by putting Ricochet over, but he will give him an entertaining fight first.

Prediction: Ricochet defeats Briscoe

Speedball Won't be Fast Enough to Stop Kazuchika Okada

11 of 12
WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage

A late addition to the DoN card will see Okada put his Continental Championship on the line against one of AEW's newest stars, Bailey.

As popular as Speedball has become in a short time, it doesn't feel like enough time was spent building this match up to justify a title change.

As surprising and fun as it would be to see Speedball shock the world and win the belt, Okada is going to retain and move on to the feud he teased with Omega to possibly combine the continental and international titles.

Prediction: Okada defeats Bailey

Anarchy will have a Happy Ending

12 of 12
New Japan Pro-Wrestling - Wrestle Dynasty

Anarchy in the Arena is one of those chaotic stipulations that makes picking a winner difficult because there are so many ways it could end.

This bout will see 12 people officially competing, but with how many enemies the Death Riders have made, and their recent recruitment of Gabe Kidd, it's likely we are going to see more than the dozen planned competitors make an appearance.

Honestly, either team could win this match and it would make sense. Moxley's crew winning would line up with the group's booking over the past year, but Omega's team winning would give the crowd a happier ending.

At the end of the day, Moxley can afford to lose this match because the title is not on the line. A feel-good ending would be better for everyone, so the good guys prevailing is our pick for this one.

Prediction: Omega, Swerve, Joe, Hobbs, Shibata and Nightingale defeat The Death Riders and Young Bucks
