Paige Bueckers Tallies 1st WNBA Double-Double as Wings Lose to Napheesa Collier, Lynx
Rookie Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings came into Wednesday night looking for their first win of the 2025 WNBA season. Despite a double-double from the top overall pick, however, a victory wasn't in the cards against the Minnesota Lynx.
Bueckers finished with 12 points and 10 assists, though she shot just 3-of-11 from the field in the 85-81 loss, dropping the Wings to 0-3 on the season.

Arike Ogunbowale led the Wings with 21 points, while Napheesa Collier went off for the Lynx (3-0), putting up 28 points and eight rebounds.
It was the second time in three games that Bueckers has struggled from an efficiency standpoint, as she was 3-of-10 from the field in her WNBA debut last week. There's little doubting her immense potential, however—she showcased her upside on Monday, putting up 19 points, eight assists, six rebounds, two steals and a block, and did so again with Wednesday's double-double.
A slow start from the Wings isn't hugely shocking. After going 9-31 last year, the team reworked its roster around Ogunbowale, most notably drafting Bueckers No. 1 overall while also adding NaLyssa Smith, DiJonai Carrington, Tyasha Harris, and Myisha Hines-Allen during the offseason.
There has understandably been an adjustment period as the new-look roster builds chemistry, and the backcourt of Bueckers and Ogunbowale has yet to fully coalesce. From a pure talent standpoint, however, there's plenty to be excited about when it comes to that duo.
Early in the WNBA season, it hasn't translated to wins. But when it clicks, it should be a lot of fun in Dallas.
