Vikings' J.J. McCarthy, Fiancee Katya Announce They're Expecting Baby Boy in IG Photo

Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy and his fiancée, Katya Kuropas, announced on Instagram Wednesday that they were expecting a baby boy.

"The best surprises come when you least expect them," they wrote. "Our sweet baby boy is arriving in September and we couldn't be happier."

McCarthy, 22, missed his entire rookie season with a torn meniscus after being the No. 10 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. The Vikings still reached the playoffs behind veteran Sam Darnold but let him walk in free agency this offseason, clearing the path for McCarthy to take over as the starter.

So it would appear that he'll not only make his NFL debut in September, but also become a father as well. Quite the month for the young quarterback.
