Notre Dame Football: 3 Dream Recruits in Class of 2016
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Notre Dame football has picked up plenty of recruiting momentum during the summer months.
With a 2016 class that currently sits at 11 members, the Irish still have work to do. In sorting through the boards, let’s take a look at three dream recruits Notre Dame would love to add. In determining such players, we’ll consider the recruit’s rankings and the team’s needs while targeting recruits with at least some reported interest in Notre Dame.
Caleb Kelly

Outside linebacker Caleb Kelly is the No. 2 player at his position and the No. 18 overall prospect in the country. On Tuesday night, Kelly announced his top seven schools, with Notre Dame making the cut:
Per 247Sports’ Ryan Bartow, Kelly said Oklahoma is the only school that will "for sure" grab one of his five official visits. The Fresno, California, product did say he’s scheduled to visit Notre Dame later this month. The 6’3”, 215-pounder was slated to be at Notre Dame’s Irish Invasion camp last month, but Kelly was a late scratch.
Demetris Robertson

Athlete Demetris Robertson is the top-rated player at his position and the No. 34 overall recruit in the nation.
Per Irish247’s Tom Loy, Robertson will visit Notre Dame at some point, although Alabama and Stanford are Robertson’s leaders. The wide receiver/defensive back decommitted from Alabama in April after initially pledging last July.
Oluwole Betiku

Notre Dame would love to land a blue-chip defensive end, and Oluwole Betiku fits the bill. The Gardena, California, native is the top weak-side defensive end in the country and No. 24 overall recruit.
Betiku, who piled up 59 tackles, 24 tackles for loss and 11.5 sacks as a junior at Junipero Serra High School, is planning an official visit to Notre Dame in the fall, per Loy and 247Sports’ Luke Stampini.
“I want to see how beautiful the school is,” Betiku said. “I’ve looked at it online and I want to see it in person. I also want to spend time with the coaches and check out the facilities. They have great tradition. Notre Dame is a great school.”
