WWE's Roman Reigns Reportedly In Talks for 'Street Fighter' Movie Cast

WWE star Roman Reigns is reportedly being considered for a role in the upcoming live-action Street Fighter movie.

According to Deadline.com's Matt Grobar, Reigns is in talks to join the cast, as are actors Jason Momoa, Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo.

Legendary Entertainment is developing the film and Kitao Sakurai is set to serve as director, but little else is known about the project currently, including the cast, plot and potential release date.

Reigns is arguably the biggest star in professional wrestling today, as he held the WWE Championship for 1,316 days before dropping it to Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 40 last year.

Despite his star power, Reigns has relatively limited acting experience outside the realm of WWE, as his only notable appearance in a major live-action film came in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw in 2019.

Reigns' real-life cousin, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, was the star of the movie, and he has long been one of the biggest names in Hollywood.

The Rock, John Cena and Batista are among the former wrestlers who have achieved enormous success as actors, and Reigns may be looking to follow in their footsteps.

Capcom, which is the video game company that created the Street Fighter franchise back in 1987, is co-producing the movie.

After the original Street Fighter achieved some success in arcades and on home consoles, the franchise truly took off with the release of Street Fighter II in 1991, particularly thanks to its popularity on the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis.

Ever since then, Street Fighter has established itself as one of the biggest and most iconic video game franchises of all time.

The new Street Fighter movie will be the second film adaptation of the beloved video game, as the original Street Fighter movie released in 1994 with action star Jean-Claude Van Damme as the headliner.
