Shedeur Sanders Talks Joe Flacco, Browns' QB Room Ahead of NFL Rookie Season

One thing Shedeur Sanders has taken away from his early interactions with the rest of the Cleveland Browns' quarterback room is how unique all of their personalities are.

Speaking to Kay Adams, Sanders seemed overjoyed when talking about being on the same team as Joe Flacco and being able to receive advice from him.

Sanders praised Kenny Pickett as someone he can learn from given his experience in the NFL so far. He also noted "everybody is cool" in Cleveland's quarterback room as they are all competing to be the starter going into the 2025 season.

The Browns rookie also noted that Deshaun Watson is taking an "active" role with the group in meetings as he recovers from an Achilles injury.

One thing that can definitely be said about the Browns quarterbacks right now is they are an eclectic group with Flacco, Sanders, Pickett and Dillon Gabriel being the healthy options.

Per Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the Browns coaching staff has devised a plan to make their quarterback competition "as fair and efficient as possible" for all four players to get a chance to showcase their ability.

Cabot also noted in a separate report that Pickett is viewed as the frontrunner to be the starter and he will receive the initial first-team reps during OTAs and mandatory minicamp.

Flacco was cited as the quarterback most likely to "push and press Pickett hard for the job."

Sanders and Gabriel could be fighting an uphill battle, but there's still a lot of time between now and the start of training camp in July for things to change.

There will be a lot of focus on Sanders, both because of his name recognition and status as a borderline first-round talent by most analysts. He could be the biggest bargain of the entire draft as a fifth-round pick if he hits.

The Browns will just be happy if they can find someone from this quarterback group to end their decades-long search for a high-end starter at the position.
