Panthers vs. Hurricanes Betting Odds, Player Props and Picks for May 20

Joe TanseyMay 20, 2025

The Eastern Conference Final may have a lot of shot attempts, but not a ton of goals.

The Florida Panthers and Carolina Hurricanes combined for 687 shots in their first two postseason series.

Florida and Carolina are also first and second in goals against average this postseason at 1.80 and 2.42. No other team has a GAA below 2.7.

Andrei Svechnikov Over 2.5 Shots On Goal (-135)

Andrei Svechnikov hit the over on his shots on goal prop in six of the last seven games.

The Russian winger is fourth in the NHL in postseason shot attempts with 81 behind Auston Matthews, Sam Reinhart and Carter Verhaeghe.

The consistency is some of the best you’ll see in postseason games, when shots on goal are typically harder to come by.

Until the trend flattens out, it’s easy to trust Svechnikov to hit this prop.

Aaron Ekblad Over 1.5 Blocked Shots (+110)

Three Carolina players rank in the top 10 in shots that were blocked this postseason, per MoneyPuck.

If you expand on that data further, Carolina has seven players who have had at least 15 shots blocked by an opponent through two rounds.

Aaron Ekblad is averaging 22 minutes of ice time this postseason, and he blocked multiple shots in every one of the Hurricanes' three regular-season meetings.

Blocked shots as a whole should be a popular player prop pick in the Eastern Conference Finals. Florida has five players on its roster who had 20 or more shots blocked by an opponent.

Under 5.5 (-130)

There’s no denying that Carolina and Florida will both rip pucks in the direction of each other’s nets.

However, that doesn’t exactly translate to goals, especially from Carolina’s perspective. The Canes had four of their five second-round games go under 5.5.

Florida’s played in higher-scoring games this postseason, but two of its last four games cruised under 5.5.

Sergei Bobrovsky hasn’t allowed more than two goals in each of his last four games, and a year ago, he held the New York Rangers to two goals or fewer in five of six ECF games.
