Jalen Hurts Discusses Learning from Michael Jordan After Eagles' Super Bowl 59 Win
After leading the Philadelphia Eagles to victory in Super Bowl LIX, star quarterback Jalen Hurts sought advice from one of the greatest winners of all time.
Hurts revealed that he reached out to Michael Jordan after earning his first career Super Bowl title.
"As competitive as he is, it would be unwise of me not to seek knowledge from him and lean on someone like that, so it's something that I value a lot," Hurts told reporters on Tuesday.

Hurts added that he learned to focus on what's in front of him as he tries to lead the Eagles to a second straight Super Bowl title.
"The biggest thing is just taking it a day at a time. We have these goals and we have these big dreams of what you want to accomplish, but ultimately, it's a journey," he said. "So take it day by day, like I said earlier. Being able to decode, detect and correct, and pretty much refine, refine the things I need to so I can be at my best when needed."
Hurts has enjoyed a busy offseason that included being named to the Time 100 list and an appearance at the Met Gala. He also married his longtime partner Bryonna "Bry" Burrows this spring.
The Eagles retained most of the core that took home the Lombardi Trophy at the end of the 2024 season. Philadelphia also signed head coach Nick Sirianni to a multi-year contract extension on Monday.
With Hurts leading the way, the Eagles will have a strong chance of remaining one of the top contenders in the NFL in 2025. Philadelphia will open the defense of its Super Bowl title against the NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 4.
