Cam Ward, Will Levis Splitting QB Reps During Titans Offseason Activities, HC Says

Doric SamMay 20, 2025

Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan is in no rush to make a decision on the team's starting quarterback for the 2025 season.

Per ESPN's Turron Davenport, Callahan said the quarterback reps are being split evenly between 2025 No. 1 pick Cam Ward and the incumbent Will Levis during Phase 2 of offseason activities.

Callahan indicated that Ward and Levis will have the chance to create some separation in the quarterback competition before the team transitions to Phase 3.

"It will change probably a little bit when we get to the next phase of OTAs and there's some 7-on-7," Callahan said Tuesday.

A second-round pick in the 2023 draft, Levis struggled to find consistency after opening the 2024 season as Tennessee's starter. He played 12 games and threw for 2,091 yards, 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. The Titans finished with a 3-14 record and decided to use the No. 1 pick on Levis' eventual replacement by selecting Ward.

Per Davenport, Levis spent the offseason working with personal quarterback coach Jordan Palmer in California. Ward has used the early part of OTAs to learn the playbook and develop chemistry with his new teammates.

Callahan praised the two quarterbacks for how they've handled the quarterback competition so far.

"They've both handled it really well," Callahan said. "I've been pleased with their demeanor and approach. Will has done a really nice job getting better at the things he needs to get better at. Cam has done a really nice job of integrating himself. … They've both done a really nice job getting up to speed where they needed to."
