Allen Iverson and Jimi Hendrix

I saw Allen being given a Gibson guitar at his welcoming press conference in Memphis, and it made me think of Jimi Hendrix, simply because i think that the two resemble each other very much! Of course, Allen didn't start playing Purple Haze with his teeth and behind his back, and I'm sure that he doesn't listen to Jimi's music, because that is not his type of music at all, but I'm sure that he even would agree that they look alike!

As for Hendrix, he played American Football as a youth and the people who remember him on the field say that he was very tough and that he was a hard hitter! That is the only other similarity i can think of when comparing Hendrix and Iverson!

As for basketball, i hope that Allen will have a positive effect on this young grizzlies team and that he turns them into a winner! I am sure that he can do that if he plays his game and plays like the legend that he is. I really don't understand why after one bad season in Detroit when it was obvious that he wasn't there for basketball reasons but for his expiring contract, that people say hes washed up and that he cant play anymore! He averaged 26 points and 7 assists a game two seasons ago in Denver, and he was an all star, and led them to a 50 win season in a very tough western conference! Denver was the 8th seed and they had 50 wins! Unheard of! So i don't understand why people are doubting him! But we all know that Allen uses criticism as motivation so I'm ready to see him go out and dominate!

So I'm hoping that the grizzlies will have a great season, even if i never wanted Allen to go there in the first place, i wanted him to go to Larry Brown, Michael Jordan, and the Charlotte Bobcats! That would have been too good to be true! But He is in Memphis now, and since I'm a big fan of his, all i can do is hope and wish for the best!
