HHH Teases NBA Stars at WWE SummerSlam amid Jalen Brunson, Tyrese Haliburton Rivalry
WWE Hall of Famer and head of creative Triple H teased Monday that Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton and New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson could be part of SummerSlam in August.
Responding to a video of Knicks forward Josh Hart saying, "WWE writes a great script. There's gonna be a lot of guys that's going to be trying to get on WWE this summer," Triple H wrote the following on X:

Triple H noted that SummerSlam will take place on Aug. 2 and 3 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, which is essentially right in the Knicks' backyard.
The rivalry between Haliburton and Brunson dates back to last year when the Pacers and Knicks faced off in a classic, second-round NBA playoff series that Indiana won in seven games.
WWE took advantage of that by inviting both Haliburton and Brunson to an episode of SmackDown at the Knicks' home arena of Madison Square Garden last June.
Haliburton portrayed a heel, aligning himself with Logan Paul and attempting to hand him a pair of brass knuckles during a Triple Threat match against LA Knight and Santos Escobar, however, Brunson hopped the barricade and intervened, allowing Knight to win.
Following the match, Paul and Haliburton cornered Knight, but Brunson grabbed a steel chair and backed up Knight, which led to Paul and Haliburton retreating.
Now, Haliburton and Brunson are set to face off again on the court with even higher stakes, as the Pacers and Knicks will meet in the Eastern Conference Finals with a trip to the NBA Finals on the line.
In anticipation of the series, which starts Wednesday night, WWE released special shirts featuring both Haliburton and Brunson:
Also, Haliburton appeared on Raw via satellite Monday night to discuss several topics, including his debut in WWE 2K25 as a playable character in the upcoming Dunk & Destruction DLC pack:
WWE often attempts to capitalize on what is hot in the world of sports and entertainment, and there is arguably nothing bigger in sports right now than Haliburton and Brunson vying for an NBA Finals berth.
Given that SummerSlam is in August, both Haliburton and Brunson would conceivably be free and clear to appear since it is in the middle of the NBA offseason.
It may be far-fetched to think they will compete in a match or have any true physical involvement since it could violate the terms of their NBA contracts, but there are plenty of creative ways WWE could have them partake in the two-night extravaganza.
