A.J. Brown Praises Cowboys' Pickens Trade, Says Eagles Will 'Have to Worry About Them'

Scott PolacekMay 19, 2025

The Dallas Cowboys are on the Philadelphia Eagles' radar.

"I like that, I ain't gonna lie," Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown said during a discussion with fans when talking about the Cowboys' acquisition of George Pickens this offseason (1:03:00 mark).

"We're going to have to worry about them for sure. We're going to have to worry about them. I like the trade. I do like the trade. I like the competition. I like George Pickens, I like CeeDee Lamb. And that collab. It's going to be exciting to watch. Because all that does is bring the best out of us."

Brown also said the rivalry games against the Cowboys are always difficult, adding "it may look easy, but it's never easy."

Philadelphia won last year's two matchups by a combined score of 75-13 with the Cowboys managing just one touchdown in the two games. Yet Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott was sidelined in both matchups and figures to be back on the field in the rivalry's next chapter in the 2025 season opener.

He will have a new weapon to throw to in Pickens, which will make stopping the Cowboys offense all the more difficult.

While opposing defenses could easily double team Lamb last season and not have to worry as much about the other receivers taking advantage of the resultant space and single coverage, Pickens is a potential game-breaker who is just one season removed from posting 1,140 receiving yards in 2023.

Brown would know better than most how beneficial it is to have two impact receivers in the same offense, as he lines up alongside DeVonta Smith when the Eagles have the ball. They both took advantage of situations when opposing defenses were focusing too much attention on the other or running back Saquon Barkley on the way to the Super Bowl title last season.

Philadelphia figures to get every team's best shot this season as the reigning champions, and that is especially the case when it comes to a revamped Cowboys side looking to bounce back from their 2024 struggles.

To hear Brown tell it, the Eagles aren't going to take their rivals for granted.
