Wimbledon's Friday slate features both semifinal matches from the men's bracket. World No. 1 Novak Djokovic faces off against No. 21 Richard Gasquet in the first contest, and an intriguing clash between No. 2 Roger Federer and No. 3 Andy Murray is set to follow.

The first match is already underway, and Djokovic is taking care of business. At the time of publication, the Serb won the first two sets and gained a lead in the third. He'll be looking to close out the match quickly and turn his focus to the day's latter match in anticipation to see who he'll face off against in the final.

Match of the Day

(2) Roger Federer vs. (3) Andy Murray

A rejuvenated Federer has been simply brilliant thus far at Wimbledon. The No. 2 seed has played some well-rounded tennis, serving with authority and showcasing stifling defense. That has led to just one dropped set through five matches, which include victories over No. 20 Roberto Bautista Agut and No. 12 Gilles Simon. In fact, looking back at those two matches sums Federer's tournament up perfectly.

Against Bautista Agut, the No. 2 seed went on the attack early and often, winning 30 of a possible 40 net points. Combined with a massive service that produced seven aces and 92 percent of first-serve points won, as well as a stiff defense that won 46 percent of receiving points, Federer finished the match with 38 winners and just 12 unforced errors.

Conversely, Bautista Agut could only muster 14 winners of his own due to Federer's dominance during rallies. That led to the No. 20 seed winning just 54 percent of his first-serve points and 14 percent of receiving points. Simply put, he had no answer for Federer.

That same trend continued against Simon in the quarterfinals. Federer won 80 percent of his first-serve points while tallying 11 aces, and his defense shone again, as he won 42 percent of his receiving points. Simon, on the other hand, only managed to win 60 percent of his first-serve points and 25 percent of his receiving points while accumulating more unforced errors than winners.

Murray may not be playing quite as well as Federer has been of late, but he's still put together several stunning performances. The No. 3 seed has dropped just two sets in five matches, which include victories over No. 25 Andreas Seppi and No. 23 Ivo Karlovic. Like Federer, Murray's tournament can be summed up by looking at his last two matches.

In the fourth round against Karlovic, Murray won with a mixture of a strong first serve and the ability to win longer rallies with nice accuracy and aggression. The No. 3 seed ended up winning 80 percent of his first-serve points, 85 percent of his net points and accumulated 62 winners against just nine unforced errors.

While those aspects of Murray's game were solid, he did show some weaknesses. The hard-hitting Karlovic tallied 29 aces while holding Murray to win just 36 percent of his receiving points. Murray's second serve was also slightly problematic, as he won 58 percent of those points.

All of those trends continued in the quarterfinals against Vasek Pospisil. Murray was dominant with his first serve, winning 84 percent of those points. He was also brilliant when playing aggressively, winning 21 of a possible 23 net points. Again, he kept his hiccups to a minimum, tallying just 13 unforced errors.

Although, Murray still showed weakness on the return, winning just 34 percent of his receiving points and allowing Pospisil to gain nine aces. His second serve continued to falter, as he won 56 percent of those points. That may not cut it against Federer's phenomenal return game.

In fact, during a recent press conference, via Wimbledon.com, Federer was asked about Murray's lack of a second serve, saying:

"

We'll see. He's beaten me before with that second serve. Can't be that bad. He's beaten so many guys so many times. You know what I mean? He covers it very well. He's fast on his feet. He reads it well. One of the greatest return players we have in the game. He's got a great first serve.

We'll see. I haven't seen enough, like I said, here of Andy, to be quite honest. Some, probably the most against Karlovic. Yeah, it's tough to judge that, you know. He came through convincingly again, so he must be playing well. Plus he won Queen's. He's in full flight right now.

"

Federer has never been one to talk down on an opponent, and his response was certainly classy; however, it's difficult to look past the weaker parts of Murray's game against a strong competitor like Federer. As we know, anything can happen at Wimbledon, but the way the No. 2 seed is playing right now, it's difficult to assume he won't move on to the final.
