Journalism used a come-from-behind effort for the ages to win the 2025 Preakness Stakes.

The pre-race favorite was caught in the middle of the pack before he exploded down the final stretch to catch and pass Gosger.

Journalism didn't appear to be anywhere close to the victory as the horses made the final turn at Pimlico Race Course.

The pre-race favorite was stuck in the middle of the group for the first half of the race.

Journalism then had a run-in with Goal Oriented as he attempted to push forward from the inside.

Journalism got through that incident unscathed and then burst down the open track to chase down Gosger.

Gosger ran a clean race at the front, but its run down the inside could not withstand the surge delivered by Journalism.

Journalism now has a Preakness win and a second-place finish at the Kentucky Derby on his resume.

It's unclear yet if Journalism will compete at the Belmont Stakes in three weeks.

Derby winner Sovereignty did not race in the Preakness. Sandman, another Derby entrant, took third behind Journalism and Gosger.
