Updated 2025 NHL Playoff Bracket, Schedule After Leafs Beat Panthers to Force Game 7
The Toronto Maple Leafs kept their season alive for at least two more days.
Toronto picked up a shutout win on the road over the Florida Panthers to force Game 7 on Sunday night back in Ontario.
Friday's win was a massive surprise after a poor Game 5 performance on home ice.
Auston Matthews provided the game-winning goal for the Leafs in the third period after the first two frames went scoreless.
Upcoming Schedule
Game 6: Winnipeg at Dallas (Saturday, 8 p.m. ET)
Game 7: Florida at Toronto (Sunday, 7:30 p.m. ET)
Toronto 2, Florida 0
1 of 1
Auston Matthews' first goal of the second round sent the Toronto Maple Leafs back home for Game 7.
Matthews scored six minutes into the third period to break a deadlock with the reigning Stanley Cup champion.
Max Pacioretty provided the insurance goal for the Leafs eight minutes later.
Toronto got a massive performance in goal from Joseph Woll, who made 22 saves against a Florida offense that put six goals into the net in Game 5.
Florida and Toronto will now head to a Game 7 on Sunday night in Toronto. The winner of that contest will take on the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Final.
