Koepka struggled to start Friday's round, carding three bogeys and a double bogey through his first six holes. He was inconsistent on the back nine and couldn't recover, recording three more bogeys to go along with a pair of birdies.
Hideki Matsuyama failed to make the cut, ending his streak of 19 consecutive cuts made at majors. The 2021 Masters champion sat at +3 overall after registering a score of two-over in Round 2.
Xander Schauffele, the 2024 PGA Championship winner, was in danger of breaking his streak of consecutive made cuts. The No. 3 player in the World Golf Ranking sat at +1 through two rounds, narrowly advancing to the weekend.
Schauffele has now made the cut for the 64th straight time, the longest active streak on the PGA Tour. His last missed cut occurred at the Masters in 2022.
Meanwhile, Jhonattan Vegas sits atop the leaderboard after shooting an impressive 64 in Round 1. He carded a 70 on Friday to remain at No. 1, but Scottie Scheffler only sits three strokes back entering the weekend.
