The 2025 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes had a purse of $300,000.

The Grade 2, 1 1/8-mile race was delayed for more than an hour by a passing storm that also forced the cancellation of Race 14 on the earlier card.

Margie's Intention ultimately prevailed on a muddy track to pass Paris Lily, who led for most of the race before she was beaten down the stretch.

Kinzie Queen meanwhile rallied late in the race to go from eighth to third.

Margie's Intention is owned by WinStar Farm and Baron Stable, trained by Brad Cox and ridden by jockey Flavien Prat. She marked a winning time of 1:52.05.

Runnin N Gunnin, who was the favorite to win on the morning line, finished ninth.

The crowd at Pimlico will now gear up for the Preakness Stakes, where Kentucky Derby runner-up Journalism is considered a favorite to win in the nine-horse field. Post time is scheduled for 7:01 p.m. ET on Saturday in Baltimore.

The event will mark the final race to take place at the track before the course is demolished in June.
