World champions Germany will take on England in a much anticipated friendly match at Berlin's Olympic Stadium in 2016.

The English FA confirmed the squad's trip across Europe on Friday:

England @England

It has been announced that @England will play @DFB_Team_EN at Berlin's Olympic Stadium on Saturday 26 March 2016.

This high-profile friendly can be considered vital preparation for Euro 2016. Germany will likely enter the tournament as favourites, while the Three Lions will at least hope to make an impression on the big stage.

The two teams last met at Wembley in November 2013, a match which was decided by Per Mertesacker's only goal of the game, as highlighted below:

Goals from Matthew Upson and John Terry saw England beat their upcoming opponents 2-1 when they last visited Germany in 2008. Replicating this win would be a perfect boost ahead of the European Championship.

We can expect managers Joachim Low and Roy Hodgson to use a host of players who will be eager to impress, perhaps ahead of a showdown in France between the two sides.
