Cowboys Become 1st NFL Team with 4 Thursday Games After 2025 Schedule Release
The Dallas Cowboy's should be comfortable with Thursday games this season.
The team's schedule was officially released Wednesday night and the Cowboys' schedule was a first. The team will become the first in league history to play four Thursday games in a single season.
The Cowboys open the season up against the defending-champion Philadelphia Eagles, host the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving, face the Washington Commanders on Christmas Day and then play the Detroit Lions in a regular Thursday Night Football game.

The Cowboys would normally play one Thursday game and then the Thanksgiving game but the opening week and Christmas games pushed this phenomenon to happen. The Detroit Lions, who also play a game on Thanksgiving every year, are the franchise with the best odds to eventually match this.
Dallas went 7-10 in 2024 and missed the playoffs. The Cowboys will hope quarterback Dak Prescott can stay healthy and new wide receiver George Pickens can be a complement to CeeDee Lamb in head coach Brian Schottenheimer's first season at the helm.
