PGA Championship 2025 Groupings, Tee Times Announced for Quail Hollow
Golf's next major is set to kick off this week with the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte.
On Tuesday, the PGA unveiled the full list of groupings and tee times for this year's tournament, headlined by the star-studded trio of Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schaufele at 8:22 a.m. ET in the first round on Thursday:
McIlroy is coming off a dramatic victory at the Masters Tournament last month, which helped him achieve the career Grand Slam. Scheffler, the World No. 1, is still at the top of his game after winning the CJ Cup Byron Nelson earlier this month with a PGA record-tying score of -31. Schauffele is the defending PGA Championship winner and has one top-10 finish in 2025.
Jordan Spieth, who is teeing off at 1:25 p.m. with Patrick Reed and Ludvig Aberg, is looking to join McIlroy in completing the career Grand Slam. A win in the PGA Championship would make him the seventh golfer to achieve the feat, and he told reporters Tuesday that he's motivated to finally pull it off, with his last major win coming in 2017.
"It's always circled on the calendar," Spieth said Tuesday during a news conference at Quail Hollow, per ESPN's Mark Schlabach. "For me, if I could only win one tournament for the rest of my life, I'd pick this one for that reason. Obviously, watching Rory win after giving it a try for a number of years was inspiring.
"You could tell it was a harder win. Most of the time he makes it look a lot easier, so that obviously was on the forefront of his mind. Something like that has not been done by many people, and there's a reason why. But I'd love to throw my hat in the ring and give it a chance come the weekend this week."
The 2025 PGA Championship is sure to be an exciting tournament as these talented players look to establish supremacy in a challenging field.
