PGA Championship 2025 Expert Predictions for Rory McIlroy and Top Stars
The buildup to the 2025 PGA Championship is all about Rory McIlroy.
McIlroy finally captured his first Masters win in April and can now play free with the career Grand Slam in his possession and with a decade-long major drought ended.
McIlroy's been one of the hottest golfers on the PGA Tour in 2025. That alone would make him a strong candidate to win the PGA Championship.
An even stronger case can be made for McIlroy because he's won four times on the PGA Tour at Quail Hollow Club and he holds the course record at the North Carolina course.
Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau and other top golfers are expected to be in the mix for the win as well, but this seems like it's McIlroy's tournament to lose.
Rory McIlroy

Rory McIlroy will be the most popular pick to win the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow.
I mean, how could you not love McIlroy in this spot.
The career Grand Slam winner has four PGA Tour wins at Quail Hollow and no longer has to play with any pressure at majors after his Masters victory.
PGATour.com's Rob Bolton ranked McIlroy as the top golfer in the PGA Championship field and as the player you should use as captain in daily fantasy lineups.
Previous course success plays a huge role in picking McIlroy, but so does his overall form on the PGA Tour.
McIlroy comes into Quail Hollow with wins at The Players Championship and Masters and top-20 finishes at every appearance on the PGA Tour in 2025.
Scottie Scheffler
2 of 3
Scottie Scheffler doesn't have the extensive course history that McIlroy does at Quail Hollow.
However, the two-time major winner is coming into the Charlotte area off an impressive victory.
Scheffler shot 31-under at the Byron Nelson two weeks ago. He also finished inside the top 10 in each of his last four starts.
CBS Sports' Patrick McDonald listed Scheffler as one of seven golfers who fits his criteria to win the PGA Championship.
Of course, it doesn't take a ton of thought to select Scheffler to win a major. After all, only McIlroy is playing better golf than him at the moment.
Bryson DeChambeau
3 of 3
Bryson DeChambeau is the form golfer from the LIV Tour.
DeChambeau shot 19-under on the way to a win in South Korea two weeks ago.
He wasn't far off the pace at the Masters, where he finished in a tie for fifth.
In fact, DeChambeau finished inside the top six at four of the last five majors and he's landed in the top four at the last two PGA Championships.
Bolton ranked DeChambeau fourth in the field behind McIlroy, Scheffler and Justin Thomas.
The overall consistency has made DeChambeau the golfer to watch out of the LIV Tour players, a role that used to be reserved for Jon Rahm.
