Updated 2025 NHL Playoff Bracket, Schedule After Hurricanes, Oilers Win Game 4s

The Carolina Hurricanes and Edmonton Oilers are one win away from their respective conference finals.

Carolina once again took care of business against the Washington Capitals on Monday night with a home Game 4 victory.

The Hurricanes led for just under 50 minutes in their second consecutive win in the series.

Edmonton bounced back from its Game 3 loss with a shutout win over the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Hurricanes were in front for most of their Game 4 victory.

Shayne Gostibehere opened the scoring for the home side in the middle of the first period.

Seth Jarvis added Carolina's second goal early in the second period.

Washington finally got on the board in the third period through a Jakob Chychrun goal, but Carolina answered back through Taylor Hall.

The same response occurred for Carolina after Alex Ovechkin netted a power-play goal.

Sean Walker and Andrei Svechnikov finished off the victory with goals less than a minute apart late in the third period.

The series has an extra day off in between Games 4 and 5. Washington will play to keep its season alive on Thursday on home ice.

Edmonton 3, Vegas 0

The Oilers bounced back from their last-second Game 3 loss in perfect fashion.

Adam Henrique scored a pair of first-period goals to open up a two-goal advantage 13 minutes into Game 4.

Evander Kane added to the advantage in the second period with what turned out to be the last goal of the contest.

Stuart Skinner turned away 24 shots in his shutout win for the home side. The win marked the first shutout of the postseason for the Oilers, who prior to Game 4, allowed at least three goals in seven of nine games.

Vegas didn't have an answer for Skinner all night and now it is in a must-win spot in Game 5 at T-Mobile Arena.
