Nix, Broncos vs. Mahomes, Kelce, Chiefs Set for Christmas Game in 2025 NFL Schedule

The 2025 NFL season will feature an important AFC West clash on Christmas Day.

Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos are scheduled to face off against Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday Night Football.

The matchup could feature heavy playoff implications, as the Broncos are attempting to clinch a second consecutive postseason appearance and the Chiefs are looking for their 10th straight division title.

The two teams split their 2024 meetings, although the second regular-season clash occurred in Week 18. Mahomes, Kelce and several other Chiefs starters didn't suit up due to the team's playoff positioning and the Broncos cruised to a 38-0 win.

The first matchup was much closer, with Kansas City winning by the final score of 16-14 in Week 10. Denver had an opportunity to earn a victory on the last play of the game, but a 35-yard field goal attempt from Will Lutz was blocked near the line of scrimmage.

The Broncos will be looking to take another step forward in 2025, as Nix enters his second year in the NFL. He exceeded expectations as a rookie, completing 66.3 percent of his throws for 3,775 yards and 29 touchdowns while getting picked off 12 times.

Denver signed tight end Evan Engram to give Nix a new weapon in free agency and bolstered its defense by adding safety Talanoa Hufanga and linebacker Dre Greenlaw.

For the Chiefs, they'll be targeting another finish atop the AFC West as they try to avenge their Super Bowl 59 loss. Kansas City didn't make several major offseason moves but fortified its offensive line around Mahomes, signing left tackle Jaylon Moore to a two-year deal worth $30 million.

As both teams prepare for the 2025 season, one of their two matchups will occur on Christmas Day.
