Eagles vs. Commanders, Packers vs. Bears Set for Week 16 on Fox in 2025 NFL Schedule

Joseph ZuckerMay 12, 2025

A pair of NFC divisional clashes will be on tap for Fox's coverage of Week 16 in the 2025 NFL season.

The network announced Monday it will air the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Commanders and Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears on Dec. 20:

Philadelphia and Washington split their 2024 regular-season series. The second meeting saw the Commanders overcome a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter, with quarterback Jayden Daniels hitting Jamison Crowder on a nine-yard touchdown pass with six seconds left.

That was the last time the Eagles tasted defeat all year as they reeled off six straight wins during their Super Bowl championship run. That run saw Philly avenge its earlier collapse to Washington, blowing out Commanders 55-23 in the NFC title game.

The Commanders adopted a somewhat aggressive approach in the offseason, acquiring wide receiver Deebo Samuel and offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil through trades and signing defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw to a $45 million contract.

On paper, Washington and Philadelphia are the two strongest teams in the NFC East, so facing off this late into the season could have major playoff implications.

The Bears haven't earned that kind of respect just yet, but they could plausibly be in the hunt for a division title themselves by Week 16.

First-year head coach Ben Johnson is well-suited to get quarterback Caleb Williams to the next level. Williams has more support, too, thanks to the additions of wideout Luther Burden III, tight end Colston Loveland and the trio of Joe Thuney, Drew Dalman and Jonah Jackson along the offensive line.

Green Bay, on the other hand, is pretty much running it back from 2024, though it did finally use a first-round pick on a receiver (Matthew Golden).

The Packers' fortunes will likely come down to whether Jordan Love turns a corner. His completion percentage (63.1) was down slightly, he threw the same number of interceptions (11) in two fewer starts compared to 2023, and he averaged nearly 20 fewer passing yards (225.9) per contest.

It wasn't the production you hope to get from a quarterback making more than $50 million annually.

Should Love improve, the Packers will be a serious threat to the Detroit Lions' crown.
