PGA Championship 2025 Odds for Sleepers and Favorites at Quail Hollow

Joe TanseyMay 12, 2025

The situation could not be any more perfect for Rory McIlroy at the 2025 PGA Championship.

McIlroy is no longer carrying the burden of a decade-long major drought after his Masters victory.

The five-time major winner is also returning to a course in Quail Hollow Club where he holds the club record.

McIlroy won the Wells Fargo Championship, the normal PGA Tour stop at Quail Hollow, four times in his career.

Although McIlroy has slightly longer odds than Scottie Scheffler to win the Wanamaker Trophy, he has to be viewed as the favorite.

Favorite: Rory McIlroy (+450)

Everything is aligned in Rory McIlroy's favor to win back-to-back majors.

McIlroy is a four-time winner on the PGA Tour at Quail Hollow. He's finished 15-under or better in three of those victories.

McIlroy's extensive course history would've made him a must-bet player even if he didn't win the Masters.

But now that the major-winning pressure is lifted off his shoulders McIlroy can play loose at the PGA and every other major tournament.

McIlroy's form hasn't dipped since Augusta. He produced four straight rounds in the 60s at the Truist Championship and landed in a tie for 12th with Shane Lowry at the Zurich Classic team event.

It's easy to bet that McIlroy will be in contention this weekend, and the odds suggest that as well with his price to finish in the top 10 listed at -220.

Favorite: Scottie Scheffler (+400)

THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson 2025 - Final Round

Scottie Scheffler can't be counted out amid all the attention paid to McIlroy.

After all, we're still talking about one of the top two golfers in the world.

Scheffler steamrolled the competition at the Byron Nelson two weeks ago. He shot four rounds in the low 60s and won the event by eight strokes.

The two-time Masters champion has four finishes inside the top eight and ties in four of the last five PGA Championships.

Simply put, Scheffler will be near the top of the leaderboard, and if everything goes well, we might even have a Scottie-Rory duel on Sunday afternoon.

Sleeper: Max Homa (+15000)

Truist Championship 2025 - Round Three

Max Homa's game is trending upward after a brutal start to the season.

Homa made three cuts in a row, finished in a tie for 12th at the Masters and had four rounds of 71 or better at the Truist Championship.

The change in form is a positive for Homa, as is his course history at Quail Hollow.

Homa won the Wells Fargo at Quail Hollow in 2019 and he had a pair of top-10 finishes at the course in 2023 and 2024.

Homa's long odds are reflective of a poor season as a whole, but he carries really good betting value for someone with his track record south of Charlotte.

He is +120 to finish in the top 40, +210 to land in the top 30 and +360 to have a top-20 placing.

Corey Conners (+6500)

Truist Championship 2025 - Round One

Corey Conners' overall major tournament form has gotten better over the last 15 months.

The Canadian produced his first non-Masters top-10 finish at a major at the 2024 U.S. Open. He made the cut and finished inside the top 40 at every one of last season's majors as well.

Prior to last season, Conners had three top-10 finishes at the Masters and only three top-20 finishes at the other three majors.

Conners has been a fixture near the top of the leaderboard on the PGA Tour since March. He has four top-10 finishes and two more top-20 placings.

If the consistency holds, Conners to finish in the top 40 at -165 is an excellent bet, as is a top-30 placing at +105, and who knows, he might even be a surprise at the top of the leaderboard come Sunday.
